This project draws inspiration from the iconic psychedelic posters of the 1960s—a style instantly recognizable for its vibrant colors and swirling, dreamlike patterns. The original hippies of the '60s were cultural revolutionaries, protesting against war and advocating for peace and love during a tumultuous era, notably the Vietnam War (please correct me if necessary).
I wanted to reimagine this concept and ask: Who are the hippies of today in Israel, where I live? Created back in 2022, this project reflects the challenges of that time—rising living costs, overwhelming consumerism, and a political landscape that seemed disconnected from the needs of its citizens.
To bring this vision to life, I turned to the voices of young Israeli artists like Tuna, Raviv Plonyk, and Yasmin Moalem, whose music captures the struggles and realities of contemporary life. Their lyrics became a modern anthem for a new kind of rebellion, one shaped by today’s unique challenges and aspirations.
